I am a newbie with Mary Kay myself and have found that my life is now easier and more fulfilling. I read these posts and see that a lot of women refer to their business as "sales." If you can actually call your Mary Kay business just "sales" then it isn't for you. And it isn't for everyone. But since I've been a consultant I've worked with cancer patients and other groups of ladies that my Mary Kay has made a difference in their lives. Just to bring smiles to their faces because we care means a lot to me. To me Mary Kay isn't just selling but it is also a way to connect with people who dont have the same opportunities others might have. My husband also works out of town, and Mary Kay has give me the opportunity to be able to visit him when "I" want to instead of when my "Boss" wants me to. I didn't have the means to purchase inventory, like so many women in these opinions, and I'm sorry to hear that Mary Kay hasn't helped you, I do my business by orders and so far so good. I also have a non pushy director on my side, maybe you gals need to find that too. I'm here to let the girls that are ify know, if it is right for you you will know. I put God first, Family second, and Career third because that is what "I" want. Not what I think should happen to me, because it won't just fall in your lap. You have to work it that way. Good luck in all you do! God Bless!

"Easier"???? "More fulfilling"???? Yeah, right. And the sky is green. But if making no money is happy for you, then keep doing it. Less than 1% of women in MK actually turn a profit. I hope you're one of them, but if I were you, I'd buy a lottery ticket instead!

One thing I noticed even while still in Mary Kay is that nearly all of those who are really enthusiastic about it are newbies. I remember being there, and using my Mary Kay "business" to offer glamour sessions at nursing homes, and also doing some volunteer work as part of my effort to meet more people (i.e. meet more potential clients/recruits.) I was glad that it was getting me out there to do some of that volunteer work I'd always wanted to do. But in the end, I felt not-so-good about the fact that I only got out and did that kind of thing when there was an ulterior motive attached. And I've since found things to voluteer for that are more in my true area of interest, and don't take the kind of prep time and stress I had doing the Mary Kay stuff. The excitement didn't last, and the money I spent on those sessions, and little gifts I gave out as part of the volunteer work only added to my total MK losses (well, maybe it's good that I never got anything actual leads from my volunteering, eh?)
