I was called today by Media Outsourcing and was offered a magazine promotion, that was to be sponsored by Visa.... promoting a Mega Bucks sweepstakes drawing, that I was already entered into, due to having a Visa. I was given a sales pitch for magazines.. by Daniel Watts and the subscription was for Newsweek Mag. I was quoted a price and then set up on a payment plan to be taken from my bank account directly within 5 days.... the same time I should be receiving my package explaining my Newsweek subscription and 3 other magazines included for free. I was quoted a weekly price, but when I added up the actual payments that I was told would be taken from my account.... they WAY EXCEED the amount I was led to believe I was paying.

I contacted my bank and got the name of the company, which already has inquired about an authorization. With that information, I searched for a web site or phone number to contact to cancel my subscription, due to the misleading prices. I only found numerous complaint sites concerning the companies "Media Outsourcing" and "Consolidated Media Services" are one and the same. And I have tried to contact 5 telephone numbers at MY expense. I used my cell phone so that I can request a record of all the attempts to contact your bogus company. My bank has been alerted about the pending charge from your company and my intentions to dispute it. They informed me that I do not need to spend fees to stop payment since it would only work one time, and that if I dispute the charge they will refund my money until the dispute is settled. I am already gathering data, so as to settle this dispute immediately.

I intend to file complaints with the better business bureau. I have tried up to 6 phone numbers to try and cancel my subscription and none of the numbers are actively working. I am recording the times and numbers and am saving all web sites where I have retreived information about the magazine scams that your company is involved in. I did take notes about every detail of the conversation and a co-worker was present during the call and I explained the offer and pricing to him.

It was not until later when I added up the actual charges that I was being ripped off no matter how many magazines I was getting and that I was lied to. I hope you did monitor your call because I did. I have already started the processes for stopping payment to your company so save yourself some time. Because, I will persue this in court, with pleasure, and will request payment for the time that I have spent sorting this mess out and trying to protect my finances... being as I gave a fraudulent company my account number. I am documenting all correspondence and intend to use it in court.
