Re: Mr. Eli Mantel

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing in response to Mr. Mantel's complaint and have forwarded a copy of this response to Mr. Mantel.

The marketing piece sent to Martha Mantel was only an offer for a subscription to Rosie Magazine. Our offer does show a control number, which is a tracking number for our records. The total and installment option amounts shown are the price the customer would need to pay if choosing to subscribe. The return date is not shown as a "due date", but "Please Return By". Additionally:

• The heading of the marketing piece is "Subscription Renewal/New Order Offer" printed in red. It is clearly indicated "Offer". It does not indicate, "Bill", "Invoice", or "Statement", anywhere on the offer.
• The front of the marketing piece is clearly marked with a "NO THANK YOU" box. The potential customer can decline the marketing offer.
• There is a phone number on the front of the marketing piece to call with any questions or concerns.
• The front of the marketing piece also states to return with payment "if responding".
• The back of the marketing piece states: "This is a magazine subscription offer not a bill or invoice. You are under no obligation to either buy a magazine or renew at this time."

Although we appreciate Mr. Mantel's feedback, we respectfully disagree and have gone to great lengths to ensure total customer satisfaction. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hestitate to contact me.
