This complaint was filed by a consumer against DirectBuy of Akron-Canton on 12/6/2004.
description of complaint:
My husband and I were pressured into buying a membership on 12/1/2004 for $3,500.
On 12/3/2004, we returned and delivered a letter of intent to cancel the contract.
We were told there was no way out and that Ohio does not have a 3-day right-to-cancel law.
We had written a check for $500, so we stopped payment, but they say that will pursue us for the entire amount.
Do we have the right to cancel within 72 hours?
